Gingivitis

gingervitus
Gingivitis is an inflammation of the gums. The gums (gingiva) are soft tissues that surround the teeth to seal and protect them. Gingivitis is a condition that arises from an overactive immune system trying to ward off a certain infection. If the body is strong and healthy, it will eventually heal itself. If the body is not strong enough, there will be tartar build up and gum infection. This will become a chronic condition and formation of plaque filled of bacteria will eat away the gum tissue if no action is taken such as brushing teeth and eating healthy food.
MAIN SYMPTOMS OF GINGIVITIS:
  • bad breath
  • redness, bleeding
  • swelling
  • loose teeth
  • infection with pus
Recommended homeopathic remedies:
There is no real substitute for brushing your dog’s teeth everyday and giving a healthy natural diet. Homeopathic remedies may not completely reverse the condition if it is chronic but will help slow down or stop the process.
Match the remedy as close as possible to the symptoms, give only one remedy at a time:
Calcarea carbonica
Symptoms: For animals that are big boned or overweight, does not like cold weather, decaying teeth, caries, bloody gums, bad breath, pain
Mercurius solubilis or Mercurius vivis or Mercurius corrosivus
Symptoms: condition exists less than 1 month, salivation, bad breath, pain, very thirsty, prone to abscesses, pus discharge from gums
Silicea
Symptoms: Smaller boned pets, condition exists more for 3 months, main remedy for repeated abscesses, weakness, poor reaction
Calcarea fluorica
Symptoms: Normally pets are weak, loose teeth, abscesses, decaying teeth or bones, pain and burning, digestive problems
Kali carbonicum
Symptoms: Pus pockets without abscesses, bad breath, digestive problems, coated tongue
Natrum muraticum
Symptoms: gum conditions but pet is prone to herpes simplex infections
DOSAGE:
The selected remedy may be given in potency of 6c or 12c twice daily for 5 days on and 2 days off for 1 month.
Wait a month and you can restart the process or choose another remedy.
It will take a couple of weeks before you see any real difference. If the remedy is a match, you will start to notice slight positive change after 1 week. If symptoms get worse, stop the remedy and choose another remedy.
FOR TARTAR PREVENTION:
For dogs that don’t have any of the above problems yet, give Fragaria remedy 1 dose a day for 3 days every month.

Another important cause of skin condition is the environmental problems such as dust, fleas, dander, mites, mold and pollen.
